EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Certifications have their place in the fitness industry, but the reality is that there are a lot of “weekend” certifications out there. A weekend certification simply means a trainer passed one exam, possibly online. While some certifications are more credible than others, we believe that certified does not necessarily mean qualified.
That is why a certification alone is not good enough for us.
Owner and head trainer Doug Sklar holds a Masters degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion and a Bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education.
Coach Doug did not wake up one day and decide to become a trainer after years in another unrelated field. His entire career has been about fitness and health. He has been teaching and coaching fitness education and athletics, at the elementary, middle, high school, and collegiate level since 1996.
We believe there is more to training than working hard. Training needs to be smart. We provide educated, results oriented training programs based on sound scientific principles.
We have a passion for philanthropy. Many companies organize occasional fundraisers, or make donations during the holiday seasons. These are wonderful gestures. At PhilanthroFit Training, we don’t believe there is a special time to contribute.
Instead, we donate to participating charities all year long, any and every time a training session is purchased.
In addition to financial donations, we consistently donate training sessions to to help others in their fundraising efforts. As we grow we will be adding additional participating charities and we will continue to seek out ways contribute to our community.
